Democrats Top Priorities In The State Budget
The Assistant Minority Leader in the State Senate says Democrats have three major priorities in the state budget. Senator Janet Bewley says when it comes to transportation and our roads they say, “Just Fix It.” She says the Governor Walker has been in office for seven years and it is time now to get a budget where money is focused on where it is really needed most. She says when it comes to funding schools it should be done well and fairly. She says that can’t be accomplished with the funding of voucher schools. She says voucher schools siphon off so much money, it is not only unfair, but it is limiting the amount of money that can go to deserving public schools. She says the state should also make sure that we have dependable broadband across the state. Bewley says the $11 million set aside for that will go very quickly and it is only going to three major telecommunications companies.
