Details Released In Ripon Death Of 18-Year-Old

The City of Ripon Police Department has released more details on the 18-year-old that was found dead on a sidewalk in the city April 7th.

Investigation revealed the cause of death was likely related to a drug overdose.

On April 11th officers conducted a search warrant on Scott Street in Ripon. During that search, evidence of narcotics use and additional information was developed about the circumstances in the case. At this location a 21 year old Ripon man was taken into custody on a probation hold and is currently in custody at the Fond du Lac County Jail.

On April 13th Officers conducted additional Search warrants at two more locations, one located in the City of Ripon, and the second in Fond du Lac County.
Officers took a 15 year old Fond du Lac County resident, and a 16 year old City of Ripon resident into custody for their roles in the death.

According to information gained, on April 06, the 15 year old , 16 year old, and 18 year old victim went to the Scott St. residence and engaged in narcotics use. Some of the narcotics were supplied by the juveniles.

While at the residence, the 18 year old victim began to experience overdose type signs from the use of narcotics, and eventually became unresponsive. Several of the subjects at the residence took the victim and placed him outside, and then fled, leaving the victim at that location.

The victim was found deceased the next morning.

Investigators are referring charges to the District Attorney’s office and/or Juvenile Court on all subjects involved in the incident which could include; reckless homicide, party to the crime of reckless homicide and keeping/maintain a drug house.
