DHS Says More Young People Are Now Being Hospitalized

The state Department of Health Services says that they’re seeing more and more young people come into the hospital for acute cases of COVID-19.

Secretary-designee Karen Timberlake says that they’re seeing the same hospitalization rates between unvaccinated adults and children.

“They are hospitalized at a rate that is 10 times greater than people who have been vaccinated. That’s all ages. It’s not kids and young people specifically.”

Over 23-hundred young people have been hospitalized since the start of the pandemic.
