Dodge County death investigation in county park

PRESS RELEASE FROM DODGE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a 21-year-old Mayville man at Ledge County Park.

At about 12:30 pm, Saturday, June 14, 2025, our agency received a report that a male had fallen off some rocks and needed medical help. Our first arriving deputy and first responders located the man on the side of the ledge, not breathing and with a serious head injury. Accessing and treating the patient was difficult due to the steep terrain, however CPR was performed, and an AED was applied to the patient. Paramedics and a medical helicopter also responded to the park; however, the patient was pronounced dead at the scene and was not transported. The patient was in the company of two other individuals at the time of the incident.

The death remains under investigation. Agencies responding to and assisting the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office included Horicon Police Department, Horicon EMS and Fire Department, Kekoskee First Responders and Fire Department, Juneau EMS, Beaver Dam Fire and Paramedics, Flight For Life, and the Dodge County Medical Examiner.
