Driver escapes vehicle engulfed in flames after crash

The Dodge County Sheriff’s office is investigating a single vehicle crash that occurred Monday, September 8, 2025.

Just before 3 p.m., Deputies were dispatched to a State Highway 67 and Moss Road in the east central part of the county.

Initial investigation showed the driver was eastbound on 67 west of Moss Road when Their vehicle crossed the center line and left the roadway on the north side of the road. The vehicle traveled through a corn field for approximately 75 yards and struck several trees before coming to rest on private property.

The vehicle then started on fire and was fully engulfed in flames upon the arrival of responding deputies. The 38-year-old driver from Oconomowoc was able to escape the vehicle and was transported by Flight for Life medical helicopter to a nearby hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
