Driver of crashed charter bus that injured numerous people taken into custody

A follow up to the story of the charter bus crash in Green Bay that injured dozens of people Sunday, March 22, 2026.

Authorities say the 37-year-old male driver of the bus is in custody for operating a commercial vehicle while revoked-causing great bodily harm.

The driver, who also owns the company running the bus, is alleged to have not had a valid drivers license for the last nine years.

Federal records show the tour company, which operates out of Wheeling, Illinois, was listed as not authorized to provide for-hire passenger service or operate outside Illinois. In addition, the company had no roadside safety inspections in the past two years, which is required for commercial vehicles to check things such as brakes, tires and other safety equipment.

The crash occurred Sunday afternoon and injured over 30 people.
