Driver Of Vehicle Killed After Plunging Into Fox River

The Green Bay Police Department is investigating how a vehicle ended up in the Fox River under the Ray Nitschke Memorial Bridge Saturday night, killing the person driving.

According to a news release, law enforcement were sent to the 100 block of Main Street just before 7:00 PM for a report of black car that was seen going underwater.

The vehicle, along with the body was pulled from the river around 11:00 PM Saturday night. The identity of the victim has not been released.

The bridge was closed to traffic for 4 and a half hours while crews worked the scene of the crash.

Police were looking at surveillance video from nearby sources to try and understand how the vehicle ended up in the river.
