Driver with 8 prior Operating While Intoxicated charges arrested after early morning Fond du Lac County pursuit

An early morning pursuit of an impaired driver ended just after 5 a.m. on Pioneer Road just south of Johnson Street in Fond du Lac.

A Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper initially was behind the suspect vehicle and attempted to pull it over for an unsafe lane deviation in Winnebago County on 41 southbound near Highway 26. While the vehicle wasn’t speeding, the driver refused to pull over.

After pursuing with lights and siren for a short period of time, the trooper was ordered to terminate the pursuit. The trooper pulled over as per policy when terminating, then proceeded to follow from a distant as Fond du Lac County deputies were getting set up for the driver to enter Fond du Lac County.

Deputies got behind the vehicle as he exited onto Military Road and proceeded north on Rolling Meadows. At Johnson the driver went east and then back south on Pioneer Road. A Fond du Lac County Deputy pitted the vehicle just south of Johnson causing it to spin out. At that point the driver was not compliant to officer’s commands and was hit with a taser and then taken into custody.

The 59-year-old driver from Green Bay was revoked due to prior operating while intoxicated, and has eight prior operating while intoxicated charges against him.
