Drunk driving and speed blamed for crash that killed Dodge County man

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a single vehicle crash which occurred Sunday and resulted in the death of a passenger.
Just after 4 PM, a witness reported that a pick-up truck traveling north on Baker Road in southwest Dodge County, failed to stop at the T intersection with County Highway GI. The driver, identified as 56-year-old Gregory Moritz, from rural Reeseville, lost control and the vehicle went into a spin and struck the ditch; overturning multiple times and coming to rest in the ditch.
An 87-year-old male passenger from rural Reeseville, was transported by UW Med Flight to UW Madison, where he later died as a result of his injuries. Moritz was arrested for operating while intoxicated 6th offense and later charged with homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle.
Neither occupant was wearing their seatbelt.
