Dry, Mild Weather Sets Up Perfect Forecast For Holiday Activities
A beautiful forecast looks to greet people out and about this holiday weekend.
The Waupun Historical Society will be paying special honor to Waupun’s military service members killed in duty throughout the week leading up to Memorial Day. The Society will be placing available images and newspaper obituaries for the seventy-four Waupun residents who died serving our Nation in storefronts of downtown businesses.
Saturday features the 12th Annual Salute the Troops Races, at Lakeside Park, from 7 to 10:30 AM featuring a 1/2 marathon run, memorial 5K race, Brandon Michael Memorial Ruck march, and kids’ race. All events are open to wheeled adaptive sports equipment.
Also Saturday will be the downtown farmers market from 8-noon.
Sunday features the Fondy Food Truck Festival in Lakeside Park. Over a dozen food trucks will be on Oven Island from 11AM to 5 PM along with
live music.
And on Monday will be the Memorial Day Parade in downtown Fond du Lac. The parade begins at 10am on the corner of Rees and Main Streets and will go south on Main Street, ending at Veterans Park. A Memorial Day program will commence at Veterans Park immediately following the parade, with Fond du Lac Post 1904 Veterans of Foreign Wars as the lead unit this year.
