Early Morning Fight Leads To Stabbing In Fond du Lac

On Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at approximately 5:42a.m. the City of Fond du Lac Police Department and City of Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue responded to the 100 block of E. Merrill Avenue for a report of a fight where one person was stabbed. 

Officers encountered a 46-year old Fond du Lac male still holding a knife upon arrival.  Officers ordered the male to drop the knife at gun point which he did.  Officers took the male into custody without further incident. 

Officers then located a 40-year old Fond du Lac man with knife wounds to his abdomen, shoulder, and neck areas.  The man was transported by Fire/Rescue to the Fond du Lac Airport to be flighted out by Theda Star Air Medical to Theda Care Regional Medical Center in Neenah with what are believed to be life-threatening injuries.  The 46-year old male was also transported by Fire/Rescue to St. Agnes for a suspected shoulder injury. 

Detectives and Evidence Technicians from the Fond du Lac Police Department responded to the scene. 

The investigation into the circumstances that led up to the stabbing is active and ongoing at this time. 

Both individuals are known to each other and this is an isolated act of violence.
