Economic Development Loans Pay Off For FDL County

Economic Development loans made possible by the Fond du Lac County sales tax over the years has leveraged another $1 billion in investment and retained and created thousands of jobs. County Executive Al Buechel notes Mercury Marine alone is responsible for quite a bit of that and nearly 4,000 jobs. Jobs retained at Mercury and other places put the number of jobs leveraged with the sales tax beyond 10,000 jobs. Buechel says the sales tax money has been put to good use by the County Board and they hope to continue that in the future.
