Elijah Vue’s mom and her boyfriend officially charged

New details have come out as the search for 3-year-old Elijah Vue in Two Rivers enters it’s second week. Vue is the center of an Amber Alert that went out last Tuesday evening after the boy was said to have been last seen that morning in the 3900 block of Mishicot Rd in Two Rivers.

Elijah’s mom Katrina Baur and her boyfriend Jesse Vang have now been officially charged with neglecting a child and party to a crime in the disappearance of Elijah.
According to the criminal complaint, Baur, who has a Wisconsin Dells address, sent Elijah to stay with Vang as a form of punishment for the 3-year-old for what Baur called bad behaviors.

According to Baur, Elijah had been in the care of Vang for about a week when he was reported missing on February 20th. When questioned, Vang stated Elijah’s time with him was to be a form of bootcamp to teach Elijah how to be a man. Punishments included time outs that lasted between one to three hours where Elijah was forced to stand the whole time and Vang would punish him with cold showers if he sat down.

Vang said on the morning of February 20th, he and Elijah ate breakfast and Vang went back to bed. When he awoke, Elijah was gone.

Vang is being held in the Manitowoc County Jail on $20,000 cash bond and has a preliminary hearing set for March 7th. Baur is also in custody with a $15,000 cash bond. In addition to the child neglect charge, she faces two counts of resisting/obstructing for telling officers she was not in Two Rivers between the dates of the 12th through the 20th but later admitted she was there on the 14th and the 16th. Her preliminary hearing is also set for March 7th.
