Enjoy Wisconsin state parks, trails, forests and fishing this weekend, all without fees

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is feeling generous this weekend and allowing any and all Wisconsin residents the chance to visit any state parks, forests and recreation areas and use state trails all weekend long, with no vehicle admission fees or trail passes required.

To access state parks, you usually would need to have a yearly or daily state park pass which costs $28 and $13 respectfully.

The free pass weekend is good for Saturday and Sunday and there’s no limit to how many state areas you can visit.

To help you find a state park or trail, the DNR has a website with a Find a Park tool to help you locate state properties to explore. You can sort by property type, amenities and location.

In addition to visiting a park for free, June 6-7 is Free Fishing Weekend, with no fishing license or stamps required on most waters throughout Wisconsin. Size and bag limits still apply however.

If you need equipment to give fishing a try, the DNR has more than 50 tackle loaner sites with essential gear to get you started.
