Evers Announces $5.1 Million in Funding to Help Senior, Disabled Transportation Needs

Governor Tony Evers announced Wednesday more than $5.1
million dollars to help seniors and individuals with disabilities in the state with
their transportation needs.

62 agencies in urban and rural areas will receive the money
through federal and state funds. The money assists local public entities and private,
non-profit agencies that provide specialized transportation services, many of
which are in smaller communities in rural areas. This year, 45 vehicles will be
purchased through the program, with the funding used to cover 80-percent of the
costs.

In this latest round of awards – Fond du Lac County-based
Community Living Connections, Inc. will receive $32,800 to purchase one
side-load minivan to help with the expansion of their services.
