Excessive Heat Warning Issued For Wednesday

The National Weather Service has upgraded the Excessive Heat Watch that was in effect for Wednesday, August 23, 2023 to an excessive heat warning.
According to the National Weather Service forecast, Wednesday will see highs approaching the 100 degree mark coupled with 75 degree dewpoints to make heat indices top
off around 111 degrees.
Wisconsin isn’t the only area being affected by the heat wave though. All or parts of 24 states currently have some sort of heat watch or warning for mid week, ranging from North Dakota down to Texas and from Colorado to West Virginia.
The weather service says extreme heat and humidity will significantly increase the potential for heat related illnesses, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities. They recommend drinking plenty of fluids and staying in an air-conditioned room when possible. They also recommended that you check up on relatives and neighbors who may not have access to air conditioning.
The heat will be short lived for our area though as highs Friday drop to around 80, with another drop to the low 70s by the weekend.
