Farmer killed in farming accident honored with dozens of tractors at funeral
About 100 people from a rural farming community in Washington County showed up to a funeral with tractors in Allenton yesterday for a local farmer as a show of last respects.
27-year-old Curtis Nehm died January 27th in a farming accident near Slinger.
Nehm worked as a farmer with his brother, and spent more than a decade working the parts desk at a local Farmers’ Implement store where he got to know many of those that came to the funeral.
Community members said he showed a true interest in what you needed done to make your day, so they returned the favor by honoring him with the tractor gathering.
Nehm’s former employer is looking to start a scholarship at Slinger High School in his name to inspire the next generation of young farmers.
