Fatal crash reported near Kewaskum

Washington County officials are investigating a fatal crash that occurred in their county Wednesday, April 8, 2026.

At 4:19 p.m., the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Communication Center received multiple 911 calls reporting a two-vehicle crash on County Highway H at Forest View Road, southeast of the village of Kewaskum.

Upon arrival, deputies found the driver and sole occupant of one of the vehicles unresponsive. Deputies and first responders attempted life saving measures on the driver but the person died at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle was said to be conscious and alert.

Investigation into the crash revealed one the drivers was westbound on H , when the other driver, traveling east on H attempted to turn north onto Forest view and turned into the path of the westbound vehicle.

The roadway was closed for over 3 hours while crews worked the scene.
