Fatal crash reported north of Oshkosh

Officials in Winnebago County are investigating a fatal crash that occurred yesterday, February 22, 2024, between Oshkosh and Neenah just off Highway 41. Shortly before 8 PM last night, the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office, Vinland Fire Department and Gold Cross ambulance were dispatched to the area of Green Valley Road and Nee-Vin Road
for a head-on collision. Green Valley Road is a frontage road to Highway 41 on the highway’s west side.

First responders on scene advised that there was one fatality and another person was trapped in a vehicle. A call for mutual aid from the town of Oshkosh Fire Department went out for assistance with their jaws of life tools but the person being extricated was able to be removed before they got on scene.

No details have been released on what caused the crash or conditions of any people involved.
