Father, Two Kids Get Bogged Down In Marsh

FDL Fire Rescue was able to assist a man and two juveniles make it back safely to shore Monday night.

FDL County Sheriff’s Deputies were called out just after 8:15 p.m., Monday (7/5/21) for reports of a 40-year old male having taken a 9-year old male and a 5-year old female for a ride on a jet ski into the marsh to look for wildlife.

The man said he had taken the route numerous times, but this time his jet ski bogged down in the weeds and the engine overheated. Fire/Rescue personnel were able to extract the weeds from the jetski, and the man and the two children were able to exit the marsh.
