FDL County Officials ask Tourists to Postpone Travel Plans to the County During COVID-19

Fond du Lac County officials are “Strongly Encouraging”
people to postpone their travel plans to the county during the current public
health emergency over COVID-19.

Part of the request by the County Health Department,
Emergency Management and local elected officials includes asking hotels and
other lodging to not accept new reservations, and to cancel those that have
already been made to “encourage people to temporarily not travel to the area.”
People who have a second home in the county are also asked to stay at their
primary home until the health emergency is over.

A press release says the request to postpone travel to the
county was also issued in hopes to limit the “demands placed on local
hospitals, emergency personnel, nurses and doctors.”

Officials says their goal is to provide the “safest public
health environment possible in Fond du Lac County”, and say that “The sooner we
address this issue in Fond du Lac County, the sooner we can get back to
welcoming guests to our community.”
