FDL Fire & Rescue Battles Car Fire on I-41

Southbound traffic on a portion of Interstate 41 was
restricted to one lane for a period of time this (Monday) morning while firefighters
worked to put out a car fire. Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue was called to the
scene just before 7 AM for the report of the fire on the right shoulder of I-41
just south of County Highway OOO in Fond du Lac. Firefighters on scene found a “smart
car” fully engulfed by fire. The driver was able to escape without injury. The
Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department responded to help with traffic and
scene management. The car was towed away and normal traffic resumed.
