FDL Fire & Rescue Update on Sunday House Fire

Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue has provided updated
information on a house fire on Woods Place in Fond du Lac Sunday afternoon.
Firefighters were called to the home at 1:13 pm, where they found heavy smoke
on the first floor. Fire crews were able to quickly locate and put the fire
out, but not before the home sustained substantial damage. Firefighters were
able to rescue a woman from the home, and after resuscitation attempts, transported
her to St. Agnes Hospital where she was pronounced dead after arrival. Fond du
Lac Fire and Rescue, Fond du Lac Police and the State Fire Marshal’s Office
investigated the cause of the fire – which has been ruled undetermined.
Authorities say further information will be released “at an appropriate time”. The
name of the victim is being withheld, pending notification of family.
