FDL HS Congratulates National Chemistry Olympiad Winners

Fond du Lac High School is proud to announce that Alex Lundberg (above) and Zachary Zhou (below) placed first and third, respectively, in the United States National Chemistry Olympiad for the Northeast Wisconsin region. As a qualifying exam, both students will now move on to take the National exam in Appleton (one of many sites) on April 26.

 Approximately 240 students from 13 high schools participated in the exam.  In addition to Alex and Zach, Noah Phillips, Nick Baker, Andrew Papenheim, Erica Daniels, Kelly Cole, and Jenna Rosenthal placed in the top 33.

 After the National exam results are tallied, the top 20 students in the nation will then be invited to the National Olympic Training Center in Colorado where they will train for the International Chemistry Olympiad.  The top 4 students from the nation will then go to the 46th annual International Olympiad, which is in Hanoi, Vietnam.
