FDL Man Shot During Altercation at I-41 Wayside

A 28-year-old man from Fond du Lac was shot during an
altercation at a wayside on Interstate 41 in Dodge County.

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office says they responded to
the northbound wayside on I-41 near Lomira just after 7pm Sunday night for a
report of a shooting. Deputies responding to the scene found an altercation
took place between the Fond du Lac man and a 22-year-old man from Kaukauna. The
Kaukauna man reportedly shot the Fond du Lac man in the abdomen during the incident.

The injured man was taken by helicopter to Theda Care
Regional Medical Center in Neenah for treatment of injuries that are not
considered to be life-threatening. Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt says the
public is not in any danger because of the shooting. The case remains under
investigation by the sheriff’s office.
