FDL PD Responds To Nearly A Dozen Fireworks Calls Saturday Night
Officers were busy Saturday night responding to over a dozen complaint calls from people reporting illegal fireworks going off in their neighborhood.
The calls started shortly after 8:00 p.m., and involved complaint calls from all over the city.
With another day of expected temps in the 90’s, and Sunday being the official 4th of July Holiday, it’s likely the calls will meet or exceed that number again today.
Residents are reminded that fireworks that leave the ground, and explode in the air, are considered illegal. Permits issued or sold by fireworks vendors and relied upon by buyers and users of fireworks are not valid under state law.
The North Fond du Lac Police Department issued a statement earlier this week that they would be enforcing action whenever violations are observed, and fines could total up to $1,000 per violation.
