FDL Police Chief Commends Residents Who Helped Robbery Victim

Fond du Lac Police Chief Bill Lamb is commending the action of some residents who came to the aid of an elderly woman when she was being robbed Tuesday afternoon in the Forest Mall parking lot. Some kept an eye on the 20-year-old suspect as he tried to run away and others physically intervened, tackling him and holding him until officers arrived. Assistant Police Chief Steve Klein says Chief Lamb reached out to thank those residents. He says normally they don’t advocate people getting into physical confrontations with suspects, but he says in this case it greatly assisted their agency. Klein says they do rely on residents to assist them when they witness crime happening. He says they appreciate those residents being their eyes and ears.
