FDL Police Looking Into Possible Scammer Targeting Flood Victims

The City of Fond du Lac Police Department is
investigating a report of a possible scam that is targeting areas of the city
that were impacted by flooding in March. Full details on the scam were not given, but the department said in a Facebook post today (Tuesday) that they are looking into the complaint – and reminded
residents that City Building Inspectors never represent, partner with, or
endorse home improvement companies. City Inspectors have collected information
on the extent of damages for reporting to the proper government agencies.
Police say anyone questioning the validity of a person representing themselves
as a City Inspector can call the City Inspections Department at 920-322-3570
for assistance and to verify employment with the city.
