FDL Receives More Money for Lead Pipe Replacement

The City of Fond du Lac is receiving $200,000 through the federal “Safe Drinking Water Loan Program”. This adds onto the $300,000 the city received last year as part of the program. The money is made available through the city for the removal of lead pipe laterals that are on a homeowner’s property – as the city works through annual street reconstruction projects. Other replacements may also happen in spots where previously public-owned lead laterals have already been replaced. The funding programs assists private property owners pay for up to fifty percent of the cost of replacing their lead service lines.
