FDL School Board Approves Compensation Plan

After two years of work on a teacher and professional educator compensation plan the Fond du Lac School Board approved the plan during a special meeting last night. The vote was 5 to 1 with Sue Jones abstaining from the vote. School Board member Mark Jurgella voted against the plan. He says the plan in total had some areas he really didn’t find appealing to attract or retain educators. Fellow school board member Julie Nett didn’t agree. She says it’s a very sustainable plan and a healthy salary schedule to retain and attract educators. A number of teachers attended the meeting, but the format for the board’s special meetings doesn’t include a section for public comment.
