FDL School Board Looking To Fill Open Seat
The Fond du Lac School District Board of Education announced late Friday afternoon they will be seeking letters of interest from individuals in the community willing to accept an appointment to the Board as a result of Mark Strand’s resignation.
By law, the remainder of the vacancy would then be filled at the next General Election in April 2022. Applicants must be citizens of the United States, 18 years of age or older, and reside within the boundaries of the Fond du Lac School District.

Desired qualifications for a Board member include being student-centered, community-minded, collaborative, a strong listener, a good communicator and flexible and eager to learn. Candidates must be willing to attend two regularly scheduled Board meetings per month (currently held at 5:00 p.m. on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month), participate on committees, attend District functions, be visible in the schools and attend any special meetings as may be necessary. Those who feel they meet the qualifications and are interested in serving on the Board for this time period should submit a letter of interest identifying their background and outlining their qualifications and desire to serve on the Board.
Plans are to conduct interviews in late September after review of applications by the full Board. Letters must be received no later than 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 and should be addressed to:
