***SUBMITTED ARTICLE***
Fond du Lac, Wis. – The Fond du Lac School District (FDL-SD) is delighted to announce our Fondy CARES (Community Access Responding and Empowering Students) program will be hosting a School-Based Mental Health Kick Off event on Wednesday, August 16, starting at 8a.
The School-Based Mental Health Kick Off event allows FDL-SD to welcome our partnering agencies along with their therapists in addition to community partners and supporters. FDL-SD families are welcome to join us in supporting our school-based mental health professionals who strive to help our students achieve their personal and academic potential.
The Fondy CARES program collaborates with local community-based agencies to offer comprehensive mental health services that go beyond what is typically available in a school setting. These services are delivered by licensed therapists during the school day at all FDL-SD facilities, benefiting each and every student.
In the 2022-23 school year alone, the Fondy CARES program 7,312 sessions were provided to students and their families as needed. Since the inception of the Fondy CARES program (2019-20 school year),14,314 sessions have occurred through the program.
The program is thankful for the support of community donors and grants that have allowed Fondy CARES to raise funds to ensure there are no financial barriers to accessing support.
We look forward to having many from in and around the community join us at the Goodrich Little Theater, 72 W Ninth Street, Fond du Lac, WI 54935, to learn more.
