Feyen Among Lawmakers Pushing for Quick Approval of Pay Raises for DOC Employees

State Senator Dan Feyen of Fond du Lac is among several lawmakers
asking the state’s Joint Committee on Employee Relations to approve pay
increases for employees of the State Department of Corrections.

The two-year State Budget promised the DOC pay increases to
retain current employees and recruit new workers. The proposed compensation plan
includes a length of service pay progression scale, two raises of 2% each,
length of service retention bonuses and market wage adjustments. The plan also
includes an increase in pay for Psychiatric Care Technicians and Certified Nursing
Assistants at DOC facilities.

Senator Feyen said in a statement that he’s “proud” the
compensation plan was included in the state budget. “My office is committed to
finding long-term solutions to worker shortages within our corrections system,
which is why I am urging the Joint Committee on Employee Relations to approve
these pay increases as soon as possible,” Feyen said.
