Fire damages Eden home

A house fire in the Village of Eden Tuesday night, August 25, 2026, was contained to an upstairs bedroom credited to the quick response from first responders.

The Fond du Lac County Communications Center received a 911 call around 10:12 p.m. from a home at 314 Fond du Lac Avenue. The caller reported smoke and flames coming from a bedroom.

A Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputy arrived and confirmed that everyone inside, including the pets, had safely gotten out.

Firefighters from Eden, Campbellsport, Mount Calvary, the Town of Fond du Lac responded, along with Eden First Responders and Campbellsport Ambulance.

The fire was contained to an upstairs bedroom being used for storage. Some belongings were destroyed, with minor water damage to the bedroom and minor smoke damage to parts of the house.

Investigators say the occupants had smelled an electrical odor about an hour before the fire was discovered. The fire is believed to have started in that bedroom.

The fire is not considered suspicious, and no one was injured.
