Fire damages house in Beaver Dam

On November 16th at 6:20pm the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a fire at 1136 Madison Street in the town of Beaver Dam. The Beaver Dam Fire Department responded immediately and requested mutual aid to assist with the incident.

First due crews quickly made entry to the structure and extinguished the fire. At the same time, additional personnel conducted a search of the structure to ensure it was not occupied. Crews remained on scene for several hours to conduct overhaul operations and confirm the fire was fully extinguished. Two occupants were transported to the emergency department for smoke inhalation.

Assisting on the scene was the Beaver Dam Police Department and Alliant Energy. Multiple other departments were requested but cancelled prior to arrival. Hustisford and Watertown Fire Departments staffed the Beaver Dam Fire Station for the duration of the event.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The Beaver Dam Fire Department would like to take this time to remind our citizens to always have working smoke detectors in their home and to test them regularly.
