Fire Damages House In Chilton – Two Dogs Killed

The City of Chilton Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 300 block of East Brooklyn St. in the City of Chilton Sunday afternoon.

The department was paged out to he fire in the 1 1/2 story home around quarter after 2 and contained it to the kitchen area where it started, but the entire house sustained smoke damage.

According to the Chilton Fire Department, the home was occupied at the time of the fire and all occupants were able to make it safely out of the house, but two pet dogs died as a result of the smoke in the home.

The fire, which was upgraded to a MABAS call, had mutual aid from New Holstein, Hilbert, Potter and Stockbridge Fire Departments.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
