Fire damages Mayville apartment building

An apartment fire in the Dodge County city of Mayville has displaced several residents Tuesday, September 2, 2025.

Just after 3 PM the Mayville Fire and Police Department were dispatched to the complex in the 1400 block of Dayton Street for a report of smoke showing from the roof.

Upon arrival, crews found fire in one of the apartments. Due to the size of the building, an automatic call for mutual aid was sent out to bring in help from numerous area fire departments, however, with the quick response of the Mayville department, they were able to keep the fire confined to a single unit, preventing further spread.

No injuries were reported and the Red Cross is assisting those affected by the fire.
