Fire destroys house in Oshkosh

An Oshkosh family is without a home this morning after fire gutted their house yesterday afternoon.

Around 2 PM Monday, the fire was discovered on the backside of the house in the 1300 block of Liberty Street. The Oshkosh Fire Department responded and quickly upgraded the call to a MABAS alarm which brings in mutual aid from surrounding departments.

A family of six lived in the house, five of whom were home at the time. All five made it out, though one was hospitalized with an undisclosed injury and two others were treated and released for smoke inhalation.

The house is reported as a complete loss.
