Fire destroys house near Lamartine

On Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at approximately 10:37AM, the Fond du Lac County Communications Center received a 911 call from a resident at N5481 Fairview Rd, located in the Town of Lamartine. The caller advised his garage, which was attached to his residence, was fully engulfed in flames.

Upon sheriff’s deputies, and Town of Lamartine Fire Department arriving on scene, flames were seen coming from the garage and smoke was seen coming from the roof line to the structure. The caller and home owner, Joseph M. Bozich, was found outside on the lawn upon deputies’ arrival unharmed. No other persons were reported to be in the residence. The homeowner was able to remove and secure his dog from the residence in a nearby vehicle.

The residence is considered to be a total loss. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office at this time.
