Fire Destroys One Garage, Damages Another In Fond du Lac

FDL Fire Rescue crews were called out late morning Wednesday for a reported garage fire. Once on the scene shortly before noon Wednesday in the 100 block of Everett St., crews found an entire detached garage fully engulfed in flames.

That fire quickly spread to another nearby detached detached garage structure, which had limited access due to numerous power lines down as a result of the fire.  The fire was quickly knocked down and brought under control within 30 minutes.

The initial garage was completely destroyed while the neighboring garage was saved with minimal damage.  There were no injuries reported. Alliant Energy was called to the scene to secure the downed power lines. 

Fire investigators are working to determine the cause and origin of the fire. FDLPD assisted with scene control.
