Fire in hotel leaves patrons looking for other accommodations

Occupants of a hotel in the Appleton area were left scrambling to find other accommodations after the hotel they were in started on fire Monday night, March 10, 2025.

Around 7 PM the Little Chute Fire Department was called to the Country Inn and Suites on Patriot Drive just off of I-41 for a report of a fire in the mechanic room. According to the fire department, the fire broke out above the sprinkler heads in the room so it was allowed to spread to one of the boiler pipes in the ceiling.

Those staying inside the hotel were evacuated and firefighters did a room-to-room search to make sure everyone was accounted for.

Officials say no one was injured in the fire and that the hotel is now closed. Country Inn and Suites will be giving a full refund to those that were effected by the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
