Fire injures two at Waushara County School
A fire at a Waushara County school injured two people yesterday, sending one to the hospital by medical helicopter.
Shortly after 2 PM, the Wild Rose Fire Department responded to reports of a fire on the roof of the Wild Rose Middle and High School. Firefighters were able to get the fire out after students and staff were evacuated.
No students or staff were hurt, but two construction workers were injured, one was treated at the scene and the other was airlifted by ThedaStar helicopter to ThedaClark Medical Complex in Neenah.
Once the fire was out, students were allowed back into school to collect their belongings and then sent home for the day. Students and staff will be able to return to school today.
