Fire kills six family members including local pastor that re-entered burning house to save grandchildren
Fire investigators in Juneau County are looking for answers to how a house fire began that left six people dead Sunday morning.
Emergency responders were called to the house fire in Necedah around 2:30 Sunday morning. They arrived to find the home engulfed in flames. Multiple people outside the home reported six people, three adults and three children, were unaccounted for.
Firefighters battled the blaze for about three hours before finding the six family members deceased as a result of the fire. Accounts from the scene say one of the adults, a pastor at a local church, had made it out of the burning house, but ran back in to try and save his grandchildren.
The state fire marshal is assisting in the investigation, and the fire doesn’t appear suspicious.
