Fire Prevention Week Proclamation

Fond du Lac City Council President Karyn Merkel presented members of the Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue Department a copy of a proclamation proclaiming the week of October 8th through the 14th as Fire Prevention Week in the City. Fire Chief Peter O’Leary was one of those who received the proclamation during this week’s City Council meeting. He noted they have had no fatal fires this year or in any recent years. He attributes that to their fire prevention education efforts. On Tuesday, October 9th the Fire Station on South Main Street will hold an open house from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. as part of their observance of National Fire Prevention Week.
