Firestone Closes In FDL

Another business at the Forest Mall in Fond du Lac has closed down. Employees of Firestone Complete Auto Care were informed last Saturday of the closing. A spokesperson for the local Firestone tire shop says 7 or 8 people worked for the shop and they could get jobs at Firestone shops in Appleton, Oshkosh, Neenah or Sheboygan. Firestone leased their store from Simon Properties, the owners of the Forest Mall.  Officials with the mall issued their own statement Tuesday saying:

“Unfortunately, Firestone decided not to renew its lease agreement at Forest Mall, which resulted in the closing of that location early this week.  We understand that the closing may have come as a surprise to many of our patrons, and we apologize for any inconvenience it may have caused. Although we are sad to see Firestone go, we look forward to Forest Mall continuing to grow and gain new energy with future stores. Forest Mall continues to be committed to the Fond du Lac community, and we look forward to what the next few years will bring.”
