First FDL County Executive Dies

Fond du Lac County Executive Al Buechel says he learned a lot from Anita Anderegg and she will be missed. Anderegg, the County’s first County Executive, passed away in Marquette, Michigan Monday. She was 92-years-old. She served on the County Board from 1972 to 1981 and was the County’s Executive from 1981 to 1993 when Buechel took office as County Executive in his first term. He says she did a lot for the County during a time when women didn’t have as many leadership opportunities. He says she believed in good government and progress. In 2007 she spearheaded a successful effort that led to passage of a referendum that reduced the size of the County Board.
