Flipped Semi Closes I-41 For 6 Hours

Rain, freezing rain, sleet and snow caused multiple crashes in the eastern and northern parts of the state yesterday.

Southbound I-41 between Highway 26 in Winnebago County and County Highway N in Fond du Lac County was closed for 6 1/2 hours overnight while officials investigated
and cleaned up a crash that involved a semi that flipped onto it’s side.

Witnesses that drove by the crash scene which occurred shortly after 8 PM said it appeared the semi struck a trailer being towed by a pick-up truck.

The driver of the pick-up was un-injured.

Authorities stated the semi driver was pinned in the cab and they requested a medical helicopter for him. No helicopter was able to fly, so the man
was transported by ambulance to the hospital.

His condition, and the exact cause of the crash are unknown at this time.

41 was re-opened to traffic at 2:40 this morning.
