Fond du Lac Area Foundation Set to Host “Celebration of Giving”
The Fond du Lac Area Foundation is set to host their 14th annual “Celebration of Giving” dinner next month. The event is organized to celebrate and thank individuals, families, and community partners who work to improve the Fond du Lac area.
Executive Director Joe Braun says there are two awards being handed out for outstanding philanthropic support – one of which is going to the Birky Challenge Group. Braun says “It’s an annual bike ride that I’m sure a lot of people have heard of. And they raise money for a scholarship that the Fond du Lac Area Foundation has supported. And their scholarship has actually been so successful now that in just these seven years now, it’s self-sustaining. So they’ve been able to create a second charitable fund that supports police efforts and endeavors around the area.”
Steve and Mary Millin will also be recognized for their many years of contributions to the community.
Braun adds that “we have about 345 charitable funds, all with a specific purpose like this where
we come in and people meet with us and we walk them from start to finish to
help achieve their charitable interests and charitable endeavors, whatever they
may be. Whatever their interests are, all they have to do is support 501 c 3
charities and we can help them do whatever they want.”
The Foundation annually provides over $850,000 in grants for local nonprofit groups.
The dinner is being held at South Hills Golf and Country Club on September 11th. Tickets are $45 per person or $360 for a table of eight. Find the Fond du Lac Area Foundation online or call them at (920) 921-2215 to book your seats.
