Fond du Lac County area emergency crews have busy Sunday

Emergency departments had a busy night in the Fond du Lac County area.

Just before 8 PM, the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received several 911 calls reporting a motorcycle crash on State Highway 45 near Gatzke Lane, southeast of Campbellsport. Upon arrival, crews found two motorcycles had been involved. One had struck a deer and the other crashed while attempting to avoid the first collision. Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputies along with Campbellsport Ambulance, Campbellsport Fire Department and Eden Fire Department all responded to the scene and found 3 injuries related to the crash with one being serious. The most serious injury, A 23-year-old Adell man, was med flighted to ThedaCare Medical complex in Neenah. The other two were treated and released at the scene.

Just before 11 PM, City of Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue was dispatched to a vehicle fire. The fire was on north Peters Avenue at Northwest Way, just north of Scott Street. When the department arrived they found a vehicle on the roadway fully engulfed in flames. No injuries were reported.

Then about 1:20 AM, multiple Fond du Lac County fire departments were paged out for what was reported as the storage sheds on County Highway N, just off of Highway 41 on fire. North Fond du Lac, Van Dyne and Eldorado Fire Departments were all paged for the reported fire, but when crews arrived on scene, all that was found was a burning barrel with a small fire in it.

And at 1:27 AM, a three vehicle crash with injuries was reported on I-41 northbound in Dodge County just south of Lomira and a minute later a man was found laying in the roadway in the City of Waupun on Franklin Street near Madison street after crashing on a motorcycle. The man was found to have serious head trauma and a medical helicopter was called to transport him to a trauma center. No other details are known in either of these crashes.
