Fond du Lac County authorities kept busy early Sunday morning

Fond du Lac County officials were busy early Sunday morning with multiple calls for service.

At about 3:50 AM a passerby found a motorcycle about 40 yards off the road on State Highway 151 near 4th Street Road. The person called the Fond du Lac County Communications Center as they looked for a person in the area that may have been on the cycle. They eventually found a man bleeding from the head. The City of
Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue as well as Eden Fire Department and first responders responded to the crash.

Then around 4:20 AM, calls started coming in reporting a wrong way driver northbound in the southbound lanes of 151 on the east side of Fond du Lac. An officer still in the
area from the motorcycle crash was in position and saw the vehicle near Rienzi Road. The officer got in front of the vehicle with his emergency lights on but the vehicle failed to stop and struck the deputies cruiser head on. No injuries were reported in the crash. The driver was arrested for suspicion of operating while intoxicated.

Then at 6:45 AM a report of a vehicle crash came in on 41 south of Johnson Street. Emergency responders arrived to find that a minivan had lost control and rolled several times into the median coming to rest on the center barrier. The driver of the minivan was treated for a hand injury. The cause of the driver to lose control was not released though according to police, operating while intoxicated was not suspected.
